DIRECTIONS FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

This Firearms Safety Course is required by the recent changes to NYS Law in order to apply for a NYS Pistol Permit. The course is conducted by Certified Firearms Instructors with prior law enforcement and military experience.

Topics:

Firearms safety

Issues related to concealed carry of firearms

Mental and physical factors involved in armed personal protection

Situational awareness/conflict avoidance/conflict de-escalation

Use of physical force and deadly physical force

Equipment selection and use

We will spend considerable time practicing the elements of how to safely and effectively deploy a firearm in personal defense situations. 

The course will culminate in a live fire exercise that will reinforce the class-room training.

Pistol’s, holsters, ammunition, eye and ear protection are provided by instructors.

Training is conducted in the Rome/Clinton, New York area.
